Aliff Syukri cleared of charges over controversial Raya video

PETALING JAYA: Cosmetics entrepreneur Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri Kamarzaman walked free today after the Sessions Court acquitted him of four charges linked to the release of his Hari Raya music video.

Sessions Court judge Ahmad Fuad Othman noted that the charges could not stand, New Straits Times reported.

This was because the Court of Appeal had recently ruled that the words “offensive” and “annoy” in the Communications and Multimedia Act were unconstitutional.
