Magnitude 5.6 earthquake strikes coast of southern Peru, EMSC says

LIMA: An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 struck the coast of southern Peru on Tuesday.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) provided the initial report on the seismic event.

The quake occurred at a depth of 40 kilometres, which is approximately 24.85 miles.
