Sie soll zentrale Bausteine f\u00fcr wichtige Zukunftstechnologien liefern und gleichzeitig Europa unabh\u00e4ngiger bei Mikrochips machen.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mb-5 xl:mb-[15px]\">Die Er\u00f6ffnung der Smart Power Fabrik sei ein \u201eMeilenstein\u201c f\u00fcr das Unternehmen, f\u00fcr Dresden und Deutschland \u2013 aber auch f\u00fcr \u201eein technologisch souver\u00e4nes Europa\u201c, sagte Infineon-Chef Jochen Hanebeck.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mb-5 xl:mb-[15px]\">Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz (CDU) w\u00fcrdigte die gro\u00dfe Bedeutung der Fabrik \u201ef\u00fcr die industrielle Zukunft unseres ganzen Landes, ja der ganzen Europ\u00e4ischen Union\u201c. Produziert werden dort sogenannte Leistungshalbleiter, die in Bereichen wie der Energiewende, der Elektromobilit\u00e4t oder in Rechenzentren f\u00fcr K\u00fcnstliche Intelligenz (KI) bei der Stromsteuerung zum Einsatz kommen.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mb-5 xl:mb-[15px]\">Infineon investierte nach eigenen Angaben rund f\u00fcnf Milliarden Euro in die Smart Power Fabrik, unterst\u00fctzt wird das Projekt mit \u00f6ffentlichen F\u00f6rdergeldern in H\u00f6he von 920 Millionen Euro. Bei Infineon entstehen durch die Chipfabrik laut Unternehmen rund 1000 neue Arbeitspl\u00e4tze.
